Clifton Seafood Company Website and Branding

CSC Logo.jpg

Clifton Seafood Company was one of our favourite projects of the year. The fish merchants needed a website that was smart, mobile-friendly and SEO ready. The company had been operating for years with an established client base, but in the digital age they needed to showcase their services online to cater for a new audience. The website would also eventually be transactional for private customers.

Case Study 1.jpg

The first action was to understand the company's USPs so we could make sure they were clearly represented through the site. At the same time we worked on developing the brand - the only branding that existed was a logo which itself needed updating but the clients had a clear vision on style and content. Moodboards helped us get the colours and character correct, we also decided on the type of stock imagery to use for the product as photography wasn't an option - the fish product looked best on a plain white background and was something we could recreate easily for new or unusual products.

Case Study 2.jpg

The product is the hero of the piece and we made sure this was the case with plenty of imagery throughout and copy for each fish or shellfish. The user journey was designed to get the customer directly to the product in a single click from the homepage. We wrote copy for the entire site, taking time to research each fish product and to create useful content for potential customers such as where the fish comes from, types of cuts, methods of cooking and sustainability information.

We also set up a Canva account and created price lists so that the client would be able to amend these in the future yet keep them looking professional.

The site came together with some wonderful client quotes and ensuring that the user-journey funnelled all visitors to either call, or request a call back. Built in Squarespace, it has all the necessary functionality to make it SEO friendly, plus we ensured each page had meta descriptions, submitted sitemaps to search engines and set up the Google My Business page putting them on the map.

We are really proud of the result, and pleased that the client is so happy with the site!
