Trident Fish Sales - Website

Trident Fish Sales were a thriving business with a poor-performing website. We love jobs like this at Cherry Marketing - we could immediately see how we could help and knew just what it could mean for a business like this.

The business actually had two websites - an online shop with a non-descript URL, and a holding business page for their namesake domain. Whilst it seemed risky with potential loss of any existing search engine results, our advice was to move the entire business over to the named domain, and to begin building a brand.

Google’s SEO strategy changes regularly, but over the years it has developed to optimise sites that look active, are mobile-friendly and are built correctly. A domain name that may be a good search phrase won’t out-perform a website that contains strong key words, correct URL strings and mobile-responsive code. So we were confident a domain change would be the right path, plus it gave the business a chance to have a brand, something that customers would begin to recognise, encouraging repeat business.

Squarespace e-commerce functionality has all the bells and whistles for any online shop, including an easy to manage inventory, every plug-in you could ask for, and even a CRM functionality for things such as order confirmation, abandoned basket, and delivery details. Because of this we were confident it would tick all the needs for Trident’s new website.

We worked with the client to develop a logo that they felt represented their brand, and from this the entire brand design developed, giving them a distinctive website to front the functional back end. We uploaded the inventory and scattered keywords throughout the product pages.

It was an absolute delight working on this project, and we were pleased to be able to move the client from page 15 of Google to page 2 for their key search phrase, within just a few weeks. We have monitored their growing success in the past month and integrated social pages so that they're fully set for a bright future. Tell us what you think!
